“Catch an all-new Nintendo Direct right here on Wednesday, 8/7 at 7 a.m. PT. We will share new details on previously announced games for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS launching this year!”
Bayonetta 2 was announced to be released sometime 2014 and was given a brand new trailer and look. Bayonetta herself is sporting shorter hair cut and new outfit, and even her attacks feature different color effects. Along with the trailer we’re given a glimpse into actual gameplay footage of Bayonetta 2 in action. You can take a look at both in the trailer above.
A brand new trailer was shown off for Monolith Studio’s X, a Wii U game in development that looks amazing and features giant mechs. Really, if the game was being released this year, I’d buy a Wii U right now, but X won’t be released until 2014. Watch the trailer above.
Wonderful 101 will feature 5 player multiplayer, where each player controls their own squad of heroes and works together to take down enemies. The game mechanic is also explained, where the player draws a shape on the wii u game pad and this translates into what form your team of heroes takes, the bigger the shape, the more powerful your form. Likely the multiplayer is online multiplayer, since each player would need access to a Wii U Game Pad. Wonderful 101 will be released August 23rd, 2013
Super Mario 3D World was announced today in the Nintendo Direct stream. The gameplay will feature four player co-op with a roster identical to Super Mario 2, meaning Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach, and will play similarly to Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS. Another new addition is a new power up, the Cat Suit, which allows players to climb up walls, or even those flag poles to nab an easy 1-UP, though I think that’s kinda cheating. Super Mario 3D Land will release on the Wii U in December, 2013.
Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U in their Nintendo Direct conference today. The new game will feature new levels, both karts and motorcycles, the ability to glide and go under water like in the 3DS Mario Kart, and hover karts that enable your kart to go upside down on courses. The roster so far includes Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Toadette, Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Donkey Kong, Toad, Koopa, Luigi, and Bowser. We’ve attached a trailer above, we’ll attach a better quality one when it’s released. Mario Kart 8 will be released in Spring 2014.
