Nintendo is planning on making another step to expanding the Nintendo eShop, but instead of more games, they’re expanding to PC and Smartphones. Nintendo’s Business Development Manager Dan Adelman confirmed to Joystiq that Nintendo is planning on allowing players to purchase eShop titles from their PC or Smartphones, and have them downloading on their 3DS systems while away, so that when they get home they’re ready to play. This could possibly lead to something that has been a big gripe with many 3DS owners, and that’s the lack of a proper connection between your downloaded games and say your Club Nintendo account. With the ability to purchase games for your system without actually sitting in front of it, it may mean that we may be getting a proper account system after all this time. Reports are saying that the new system will be available later this year.
