Soul Sacrifice, Keiji Inafune’s first game since he left Capcom to form his own company, is finally coming to the US and Europe in late April/Early May. The game, which releases in March in Japan, features a dark twist on Monster Hunter like gameplay. Players equip themselves with spells that allow them to combat large enemies, however these spells come at a price, usually the Player’s health. After defeating an enemy, the player can choose to Save or Sacrifice it, giving the player access to more skills in each choice’s respective skill tree. In multiplayer mode, up to four players can team up to hunt down a boss monster, and should one of your ally’s fall, you can even choose to save or sacrifice them. If you save an ally, they get back on their feet and ready to battle, but should you sacrifice them they’re lost forever, though it will allow you to do a massively powerful spell. Should you pre-order the title, you will gain access to a handful of nice gifts. Firstly you will recieve two costumes that can’t be found in game along with three magic items to aid you in battle. Also, if you’re one of those people who believe that japanese voices are always better then non-japanese voices, you’ll recieve the Japanese Voice Pack, which will let you hear dialog spoken in glorious japanese. The pack will be available for sale after the game’s release, but to get it for free you must pre-order. Keiji Inafune himself also left a little note for the players in the announcement:
“I’m excited that we are finally able to announce the release date of Soul Sacrifice. I have put all my passion and soul into the game’s concept and my talented team has made an incredible effort to create the best game it could ever be. I’m confident that we’ve created an extremely engaging game that you will enjoy playing.
The game has become nothing like any other game with an original and deep world settings which could only be possible in a dark fantasy environment. I’m looking forward to you being able to experience the unique adventure of real heroism in Soul Sacrifice. Immerse yourself in the world of Soul Sacrifice and have fun playing it!”
Soul Sacrifice will be available in retail and on the PSN on April 30th in the US and May 1st in the EU on the Playstation Vita
