Kevin Butler v Sony Dispute Comes to a Close, Sort Of

MediaDailyNews reports that actor Jerry Lambert, known for his role as Sony Vice President of just about everything Kevin Butler, has come to an agreement with the company over their dispute about his appearance in a Bridgestone ad earlier last year (See our previous article for more info on that).  Mr. Lambert agreed to not star in any commercial promoting a rival companies machine for two years, afterwards he is free to star in any commercial he wants.  However, for the first two years following that point, Mr. Lambert must notify Sony about the details of the commercial so that they may determine whether or not it infringes on the Kevin Butler character that they own, Jerry Lambert does not own the rights to that character.  Although the actor and company seem to have gotten along, Sony and Bridgestone still battle it out in the US District Court system.
